What is Panic Attack :

Panic attack is an shrewd and sudden fear that can occur with no warning or preliminary triggers. It can happen in different places and situation and can be triggered by many factors some of them are conscious and some are not. The first episode of panic attack can not be predicted. Many people will suffer through out their lives from one not recurring episode. Hence there is a considerable chance that if you had a  panic attack it won’t occur again and will stay a one time incident.

People who experienced panic attack describe the feeling of losing total control, sweating, heart pounding rapidly, feeling of heat or astute cold are among the common and prevalent symptoms. Many people who had a panic attack reported they felt as if they were having heart attacks.

Long Term Implications

Panic attack can last a few minutes but  also can endure up to a few long hours. Panic attacks are not a life threatening. However, besides the unpleasant miserable episode of having attack, the problem with it is that people who suffer from regular episodes develop a sharp fear from experiencing those panic attacks where they are paralyzed and out of control. As a result they are preventing (keeping) themselves from being exposed  to places and situations where it might arise again. The natural mechanism of the body when one is in a situation of a real danger is to increase your heart rate, make your muscles tense, and give you an flare-up of energy. When you have a panic attack the body recognizes regular and not dangerous situations as a dangerous situations causing the aforementioned response. The exaggerated response can derive from unbalanced chemicals in the brain, a stressful life style, traumatic life circumstances which weren’t treated and processed a family history of panic attacks, use of alcohol and drugs.

Initialy, as it was mentioned in the begining of the article, panic attacks are not risky and second, they are treatable. Usually, the treatment involves medicine (the SSRI family of drugs or natural herbs such as Ginseng, Valerian and more) and some kind of psychotherapy: a cognitive-behavior treatment is known for having a real and significant effect in those cases.

So, the first thingyou need to do is go to your doctor and tell him/her about regarding your situation and follow the recommendations.
